    Nick,

Once the trainee has established the proper feel and motor pattern for this movement, is it still best to think of it as two distinct steps- out and then back, or can you essentially do it all in one seamless motion?

Thank you for a fantastic series of video posts.

  2. Sam says:

good question TJ. I’d like to know the same thing.

  3. Brett says:

    Coach Nick,

Do you have any tips on how to make sure I don’t engage the upper traps when I reach out as far as possible? I tend to shrug whenever I reach out. Also, I know the lower traps facilitate scapular depression, but since the lower trap fibers run 45 deg. to the mid-line of the body, when doing the “Y” should we focus on depressing the scapula at that angle. So instead of just saying try to put your scapula in your back pockets, say try to put your right scapula in your left pocket and your left scapula in your right pocket.

Thanks. Everything you produce is a phenomenal resource.
