    Love this stuff! Nick…you smart.

  2. Shane says:

Nick, I would say you are the most innovative coach around at the moment. Thanks

  3. Sarah Rippel says:

AWESOME stuff! I seriously dig your approach! Also, thanks for bringing some great stuff to light without doing so in an arrogant manner! It seems there are too many “know it alls”. Truth is, we all learn from eachother! :)

    Coach Tumminello,

Eric Cressey had an article not too long ago where he referred to an exercise he called the supine “no money” with band.

    http://www.tmuscle.com/free_online_article/sports_body_training_performance/cresseys_favorite_exercises

While not the same in a number of respects, I was wondering if the somewhat similar end position of these and “traditional” W’s would make this “no money” exercise less beneficial than it appears given the comments you made both about the traditional “W’s” and also about the pivot prone position.

And while this doesn’t relate to your post, would it be possible for you to potentially devote a brief bit of coverage to correct form on seated DB “cleans?” I’m not sure if you use or particularly care for this movement, but if you do, it would be great to hear your take on correct mechanics. Many advocate what amounts to shrug, then bend the elbows, and then externally rotate the humerus. The shurgging part is what has me scratching my head, because wouldn’t that increase scapular anterior tilt and potentially limit the external rotation portion? It seems like pull up/bend elbows + external rotation without allowing the scapulae to elevate would be best.

If this is not a topic you feel like covering at all, I understand.

    Thanks again!

  5. nick says:

Many thanks for your positive words!
I agree that we can all learn from one another. When it comes to teaching, I would much rather always be helpful than always be right.
I look forward to hearing from you on future posts!

    Best regards!

    Coach N

    Shane,

I would say you are a very sweet person for taking the time to write such a wonderful comment.

    Thank you so much!

    Best regards!

    Coach N

  7. nick says:

    Thanks Mark!

    Hope all is well!

  8. Laree Draper says:

That’s excellent, Nick. I can definitely see that. And in fact, I’d stopped doing the Ws about six months ago, just didn’t seem to be doing much. I’ll give them another go reversing the hand position.

Oh, and beauty job on making up and using the new word, “slunched.” Always love new words! Dave usually makes up a new one about once a week. Sometimes they stick. :~)
