Dear Coach Nick,
Once again, I am pleased although no longer surprised at the great quality of the content that you make available at your website. Your two part interview with Mark Comerford was most informative and appreciated. The invaluable insights that you provide do much toward keeping your devotees healthy first of all, getting stronger and growing muscle. As in all things, first things first.
Some few critical remarks: You generally are well understood although when your face turns from the camera sometimes some words are lost. Mr. Comerford didn't quite speak as clearly or loudly enough to be picked up by the on camera mike and you might consider miking your guest or perhaps both of you. It would greatly improve the quality of the sound in your video posts. Mr. Comerford's accent which detracted from his understandability would have been ameliorated by being able to hear him more clearly.(he did tend to speak with his head down). My purpose is to try to help you in some small way to thank you for the good you do for all us folks. Thanks, sincerely, gene sedita. I'm sure you noticed that the last part of your/his comment was cut off.

Very interesting stuff, Nick.

The focus in this video is mainly on athletes, but if you were training a regular fitness client, would you still feel that some flexion is necessary?

I can't see how the benefits outweigh the negatives when you're dealing with the average population.

Just too add to my earlier post.... I have had back pain since I was 16 or 17 (32 now). I spent years holding a neutral spine and I still managed to blow out 2 discs and have some degeneration to help out.

When things got really bad 2 years ago I totally avoided lumbar flexion...even putting on shoes. Life sucked, I couldn't move. I struggled with every aspect of life. I was getting worse.

Then I read Sarno, and decided to give McGill the flick. I forced myself to flex, I picked stuff up flexed. I resumed life. Now I'm living. Still got some pain, but 1000% improved.

It's funny how you guys were rambling on about the risk to disc injury when the real issue is pain.

A high percentage of active people have disc bulges, degeneration, etc and zero symptoms. Many have no disc pathology and huge amounts of pain.

Disc damage, etc is like grey hair. Benign 99% of the time. We feel pain for a much different reason.

I'm with Dr. John Sarno on this one.
