Hmm. Coach Nick, That's a good one in high school I used to fly up that thing. I think it was 20 feet. So much for the distant past. Gotta try that out. Geez, I remember it used to be like buttering bread. I might a buttered one piece too many. Thanks for the challenge.

Thanks for posting!

You don't see ropes in major, Big-box gyms because it can be a huge liability if someone falls. WHenever I use rope climbing, I only have my folks go up to a certain height and I place a heavy duty crash pad (gymnastic mat) underneath.

Safety first! ;-)

Nick,

I am with you on rope climbing. As a grade school kid of the 60's I grew up with rope clinbing. They could be found at our local schools, YMCAs, etc. We climbed ropes all the time. Unforuantely, lialbility issues. etc began to surface, rule te day and schools and Y's elimated them from the facilities.

How do we get them back?

That's a killer for sure.

I like the old school peg boards as well.

Work your way up and then control it back down.

It's insane for your abs as well.

Thanks Nick! You reminded me good old times when I wrestled freestyle in Latvia. Climbing ropes are very popular in gyms in Latvia, and I guess Russia. I've never seen them in USA.
