Dan’s Pro team is located in Normal Illinois and is called the Normal Cornbelters. They play in the independent professional Frontier League. They recently added him to the roster on the Team’s website, and on this little blurb in this press release.
.
To celebrate Dans achievements, he and I have teamed up to show you 5 of the top stretches you can do to improve your sports performance. These stretches are especially valuable to the Baseball athlete. Dan has personally used these very same stretches to help become a Pro!
.
Upcoming Strength Coaches, Trainers and athletes can learn from what Dan has done here at Performance U and from what he’s done for himself to become a Pro!
.
As an athlete, Dan has been dedicated to his strength & conditioning program while simultaneously rehabilitating his pitching arm from Tommy John surgery. Every time there was a break in the action here at Performance U, Dan wouldn’t just sit around. He’d start performing his stretches and telling me about the tough workout he’d just put himself and some of his college teammates through. That my friends is the type of energy and dedication it takes to become a professional athlete!
.
As an intern – Dan has been one of the BEST interns I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Every client here at Performance U loves to work with Dan because he’s genuine, social and enthusiastic! I like to say that I can make anyone a great Personal Trainer in a matter of weeks. But, all the technical stuff aside – I can’t make you a better people person. You either have it, or you don’t. Dan is just a likable guy! He always shows up when he’s supposed to, does whatever is asked of him without question and always asks great questions. Plus, he loves Strength & Conditioning and actually puts into practice what he’s learned!
.
Dan regularly shares is Baseball Conditioning knowledge through his Blog – DanBlewett.com. Dan’s blog always has incredible content and is a must if you’re interested in Baseball training! It’s funny how whenever I have the honor of working with a person like Dan – I think I end up learning just as much from them as they learn from me! I read Dan’s blog every week and he’s always teaching me something new!

Great video/information guys!! CONGRATULATIONS DAN!! We will certainly miss you around the gym
Lots of luck, Alli
Great stretches Nick, I tend to neglect stretching for the most part, but those are usually the ones I perform before or after workout. The T-spine mobility stretch/warm up has dramatically reduced shoulder discomfort throughout the day. My strength coach at fitness quest 10 (Doug B) puts we through a dynamic warmup before we train, it’s helped tremendously. Very similar to your dvd. Keep up the good work…

Dedication and consistency yields results similar to what Dan has accomplished. The mark of a great athlete is to make a difficult task appear easy. You are doing that Dan. Congrats on your career move. With your work ethic, there’s no question you will have continued success!
I have a question about the final stretch in the video. Are you suppose to hold the final position for say 30 seconds or whatever you like? Or are you suppose to do the whole sequence for reps say 10-15? Or do you hold each position of the stretch for an allotted time? I’ve done all the stretches the are great but I need a little help on the last one, thanks!
Thank you Nick for the post, it really means a lot! Getting smarter over the years has helped me train more efficiently, and Nick has been a huge part in that.
And thanks Alli and Dave for the kind words…I’m gonna keep working and leave it all on the field; I can be proud of that at the very least.
More important, even, than the quality info… Dan played for UMBC, my alma mater. Go Retrievers!
