We all know the saying, “If you don’t use it, you lose it.” It’s for that reason why I use mobility exercises to complement the strength training aspects of a workout. Like I said in my book, Building Muscle and Performance, “Mobility exercises require your joints to move into their end range of motion, whereas in strength-training we tend to avoid end-range joint actions in order to maximize safety in handling heavy loads. I’ve found that mobility exercises can also help you improve in other areas: squatting deeper, deadlifting with a straighter back, and performing lifts with more comfort and less restriction.”

In this video, which we did back in 2010, I show you how to perform (what remains to be) my top thoracic spine mobility exercise – Quadruped T-Spine Rotations 2.0.

As you’ll see in the video, there are a few tweaks I’ve made to this exercise from the way it’s usually performed that help you to get more out of this great thoracic mobility drill.
